Paper playing is a musical project in its embryonic stages. It’s the concept of singer-songwriter Joel Bain, with the goal being to pull together a group of accomplished musicians to arrange, record, and perform some of his original material. Paper playing is a project in the sense that it’s expected to have a short life cycle. The goal is not to create a band which will have a significant lifetime. The musicians involved will lend their expertise to the process of “building” and arranging the songs and also perform them live during the project period/life cycle. The permanent output of the project will be the recorded material, with the goal being to record a full length album. The project and the songs will be marketed using the internet and the songs will also be submitted to compilations for inclusion in film and TV soundtracks or advertising.
